Mark Gonzalez is one of the most famous and impactful skaters in the industry. Being a larger than life character also is effortlessly demonstrated in his unique skateboarding style and outlook. Not only has he been many people’s favorite skater but he also has started numerous companies that changed the lives and gave first starts to many legendary skaters today. Though he is older, people are still just as entertained watching him skate demos today, if not more so now that he is a bona fide skate legend.
As he is an all-around creative, I felt it believable to see him in a magazine like JUXTAPOZ getting his art showcased. From photos of ‘the Gonz’ at different stages of his life, I created a composite fitting for a cover. If Gonz saw this, I’d like to think he’d like the art.
